Smile 930

This section had nothing in it, so I thought I would start a thread here.

I may pick one up soon.....

Luis,

SWEET cars these are. I had an 87 Cabriolet factory slant nose in Persian Blue. To this day that is the only car I wish I hadn't sold. Driving that car was a full time job if you drove it hard as the engine was a dog (when not on boost) and the gears to far apart (4 speed). It always would happen that about the time you were getting into the boost you were apexing the turn. You just have to experience what that is like a time or two. I went through more underwear with that car

Come on John.. You just need to keep your foot into a little bit longer (smile)

The next statement is... Ah, how many of us are going to admit the trips to the body shop for quarter panel replacements.. It was nice that Porsche built the 930's with weld on flares..

Luis, Thanks for posting.. Go and get yourself one.. Make sure that you do a leakdown.

Statman, I think you meant 87 not 78. SWEET nonetheless.

Kevin, I would certainly admit if I ever did hit anything but luckily I never did. LOTS of "near-misses" as they say in the airplane world, but never an actual incident. In looking back I can see why Porsche was in hot water over that car. I am no professional driver but am above average and I was in WAY over my head several times.

No I know exactly what I said. Number 455 of the year 1978. It had 6000 original miles when I bought it from a German friend who imported it with 300 miles on it. Had Andial racing ICs and some other significant work...boasted 450hp to the wheels.

My second reason for getting a 996TT w/AWD (I still can't believe folks removing this). I could do 360s in an intersection if I wasn't careful. The lag was unbelievable, but when it hit it was scarry

Yes I know what you mean. My little beauty was completely stock other than aftermarket rims and as I recall about 300 something HP. But yes it would go from Hyundai to Ferrari in about 1/2 second. Somebody hit the damn on switch.
