Default Deepblue's UMW 2C

Wanted to my UMW experience and a pic of my 01 turbo, its been through quite of mods in the last couple years, when the mod bug bites, it bites hard. One of the lessons learned is if you have any inclination of going big, save yourself some time and money with smaller mods and just go for it!

To date it has the Tequipment X73 suspension which is very well balanced, handles very well but still easy to live with on a daily basis. The X73 came with motor mounts which are equally nice but decided to upgrade to the RS motor mounts which are quite a bit stiffer and while saving a little weight.

I also installed the 355mm front brake kit, I believe these are GT2 calipers with GT3 rotors, I also installed the GT2 front bumper and GT2 rear engine cover/wing.

I initially had a Stage 4 that grenaded, I replaced it with the UMW 2C. If you are halfway handy with tools, you can do this install, especially if you have some qualified oversight. The 2C includes swapping injectors, fuel rail, FPR, fuel filter as well as a new MAF conversion. I also opted for the CF air intake, I really dig the double entry intake though:-)

The turbos are really a work of art, these are Zero Clearanced K24/26's, with a compression side similar to the 997 GT2 design, just allot larger! (details here: http://www.turboflatsix.com/ultimate...s-new-t94.html) After having an Evoms wastegate failure, you will be very impressed with the stoutness of Kevins wastegates.

Installation was straightforward (just follow the instructions to the word). In all honesty the break in period was painful, but worth every minute of self control, I'm at 6200 feet and couldnt believe the pull, I was doing 3rd gear WOT pulls for data logging and spinning the tires through 4500rpm.

Kevin also talked me into a EuroPipe 2 Loud, I was thinking that it might be too loud, but in all honesty its perfect, not too loud to disrupt neighbors with an early morning cruise, but loud enough for people to take notice. I actually have other brands shadowing me to listen to the exhaust. It's a pricey piece but damn is it nice!

Something else allot of tuners dont do is individually tuning each install, get a windows laptop and a copy of the Durametric, this will enable you to data log a few runs and send Kevin the data, he sends you back an updated file, this is especially valuable for us higher altitude guys.

OK, enough BS, give me some numbers, right? How about 600-630 HP and 620-650 TQ...to the WHEELS! 1/4 in the high 10's/low 11's trapping about 130ish, 0-60 in low 3's...on 91 oct crap gas! I havent done a 60-130, but that will be happening soon. I can honestly say I would probably stomp just about anyone on pump gas. The no shitter of this is this system is detuned to save the stock internals, with internals add another couple hundred HP.

As you can tell, I am stoked with the UMW 2C, although I cant wait until I do internals. I'll have some more pics and experiences as spring arrives, looking forward to reading about some of the others experiences as well.

Funny thing, that bad situation led me to this good situation...
