Default Oil/Filter change tip

Guys when you are changing your oil and filter I highly recommend pouring some oil into filter as a prime for your turbochargers and vario-cam.

I also recommend pulling your fuel pump fuse. Row 3

So I haven't posted here in a while, and the forum is suggesting I do so....

To clarify- you recommendation is to pull the fuse and turn over the engine for 30 seconds or so after you've refilled with fresh oil? To distribute oil into the engine but NOT allow the engine to fire up. Then replace the fuse and you are good to go.

Correct?

Yes, pull the fuse prior to dropping your oil. Hit the starter and clear all the fuel in your engine. Dump your oil and filter, fill the sump tank, and crank the starter with the fuse still out. Watch your oil pressure gauge. Crank for 8 to 10 seconds at a burst. You should see the oil pressure increase.

Please note that it will take a bit to get oil pressure needle to move. Don't burn out your starter.

We do this to prevent dry starts on a fresh oil change. The engine oil is not at the oil pump when you fill the sump tank. Filling a little oil in the filter element, puts oil right in your engine!
