Unhappy You get your tranny rebuild to better than new....and get a P1109?

Hi.

Thoughts.

Origianal MAF, but was fine prior to tranny repair.

Vendor: a top of the line place...the mehcanic was a Rolex Grand/AM crew chief (Paul Schwartz at DAS)...so unlikely a mechanic error...unlikely...

Could it be a loose tube...

UMW DV's...lwfw...

New interior of the tranny (all the parts....)...

TIA

Jeff

jeff, I responded on the 6...my guess is blown maf....cleaning will not help. Could be something loose in the connection....since the tranny was replaced, maybe during the re-install there was something missed?

Thanks. Will try MAF...then back to DAS for a wiring harness check if not working. PSM/ABS lights are not going off.....

Update: New MAF. Got the code again. Going to the shop.....

Ug.

(posted here because this is the most "hi tech" of the forum for the 996TT IMHO)

(Plus Kevin has called every issue to date correctly....)

Jeff, do you have durametric? If so do some data logging...let's see what is going on.

Thanks.

I did the MAF...so the rest is the throttle body/control stuff. Now, the work-up in the manual does not take into account that the engine was just dropped completely...so I am suspicious that something was damaged.....it would be odd to go into a service event with no throttle issues, get the tranny repair, and all of a sudden have the throttle go bad....

I have an Actron 9180....had to get it fast and it was the best bang/buck at Pep Boys. I'd love a durametric...that is planned.

I think the Actron can log....will see tonight....cleared the code, will try to drive it home and see a logged CEL happen ....we shall see.

Thanks!

Jeff

Thanks Statman.

You are too cool. I bet there is a loose wire. I "hope" my harness is ok. At least this is a legit, big-time racing shop. They'll take care of whatever it is on their dime. And, they alrealy plan to give me a loaner for as long as needed, etc. No issues. I had gotten them a case of Belgian beer on pickup of the car after the tranny....good guys all of them.

For the record, this is the reason I had the P1109 CEL, not psm/abs light changes, and not symptoms....snap clamp died and that fact was hidden because the crack/fracture was in the part of the clamp closer to the front of the car....

And, it was still "on" the fitting pretty tight.
